When you’re building a glamping campsite and becoming a host there is A LOT to learn. We want to share some of the lessons that experience has taught us (to save you time, money, and to avoid some frustration!) and invite you to join us as the learning and the adventures continue. This has been a great trip so far and is just beginning! We will be passing on how-tos, hear from experts we’ve met along the way, share some really dumb things we’ve done as well as what’s kept us on track. Glampsite Joe is for everyone who has visions of creating a special camping space where lifelong memories can be made.
When you’re planning your campsite, ask yourself how you would have done things when you were a kid if you had the tools. Who doesn’t want a magic spot in the trees that is extraordinary? Making a glamping campsite is the perfect opportunity to let the kid in you have at it!
Christmas lights in the summertime. Hidden tree forts. Fires to make a marshmallow the perfect brown. This is the ideal space to share ideas and to learn how to turn the “you know what would be cools?” into reality.
To hire a contractor or to not hire a contractor… With basic carpentry skills, the right tools, and a willingness to try, we have been able to complete most jobs from the ground up ourselves. Other jobs are way better off being left to professionals. Local, state, and federal regulations can also be a trick sometimes. We will share what we have learned from projects completed and what we will learn from projects yet to come. We want to help you make the best map possible for the glamping campsite road ahead!
